El famoso estampado “Vichy” de Briggitte Bardot / The “Vichy” prints of Brigitte Bardot

English: This is a classic  in France (an in extend in all Paris Brands). Vichy is the name of the square print that seems like a picnic tablecloth.

Here in France it is automatically associated to the image of Brigitte Bardot. Apparently she was in a hotel in Saint-Tropez beach and in her room there was some curtains with this Vichy print, she decided to take them to make a skirt… everybody loved it so she continued to use this print. I heard this story in a television programme called CÇVB when Edouard Dutour was presenting the BB bag by Lancel. This Bag was a collaboration with Brigitte Bardot her self and this famous French Brand.

So here in France when we see this Vichy print we think about Brigitte Bardot, Saint Tropez beach and summer time!

Un clásico Frances para verano es el estampado Vichy (ese estampado de cuadritos rojos que recuerda a las mantas de pic-nic). Acá en Francia es muy asociado a la imagen de Briggitte Bardot ya que es ella la que lo puso de moda para la ropa.

La leyenda dice que ella estaba en un hotel de Saint-Tropez  que tenía cortinas para las ventanas en este estampado “vichy”. Ella uso estas cortinas para hacerse una falda. Después de esto siguiendo mandando a hacer ropa con este estampado y se volvió parte de su imagen. Esta historia la escuche en el programa CÇVB por Edouard Dutour cuando presentaba el bolso Lancel “BB” una colaboración entre la marca Lancel y Briggitte Bardot.

Así que cuando pensamos en Briggitte Bardot pensamos en su estampado Vichy y en su playa de Saint-Tropez en resumen pensamos en el !veranoooooo!.
