As I told you before in my last post, everybody was curious about the collection of Dior and Yves Saint Laurent for this Paris fashion week, so now it’s the turn of YSL Saint Laurent Paris:
1. Drama Drama Drama!
This last week I have been hearing a lot about Saint Laurent, about everything but the collection it self.
The first information is about the change of name. This brand is not longer Yves Saint Laurent. Now the name of the brand is Saint Laurent Paris. But apparently they are still using the logo YSL, at least at the runway there was big YSL Logos at the outside of the building.
It seems also that they are taking all this change of name very seriously (when you read the link of BOF you’ll understand why)

Then I heard all that rumours about the attack of a fashion critic Cathy Horyn, and how weird they are communicating. (I’ll try to be as objective as I can and just pass the information) Here are the two links:

This Monday I watch Karl Lagerfeld in a French tv show at "D8", and someone ask him about if we can still critic fashion as we critic a book, a movie or art, also saying that she was asking that because of the Saint Laurent thing; our Karl with all the years of experience in fashion business said about Saint Laurent: it wasn’t a good example… they even take the chance of getting more bad critics… it’s not necessary.

2. Good music!
What every body can happily agree is about the great music of the runway. It was a special mix of Daft Punk of a song of Junior Kimbrough. They made everybody dance in the runway!
3. 70’s (the runway)
Heidi Slimane did’t gave interviews after de show (that is very unusual in the fashion word). But for what we can see the coupes were very Yves Saint Laurent at the 70’s. I’m posting here some photos of that time so you can see the shapes, colours and the references that we find also in the last collection.

(Spanish) !Hola! Disculpen dejar hasta abajo del post la traducción pero era mucha información y al intercalarla como normalmente hago quedaba muy desordanado. Ahora si acá les va la traducción:
Como les dije en el último post todo el mundo estaba pendiente del desfile Dior y el desfile de la casa Yves Saint Laurent. Ahora es el turno de hablarles de esta última:
1. Drama Drama Drama!
Esta última semana surgieron muchas noticias en torno a la marca Yves Saint Laurent acaparando la atención que debería de dársele normalmente a las creaciones, al desfile.
La primera noticia es por el cambio de nombre de la marca, ahora se llamará simplemente Saint Laurent. En el logo aparecerá “Saint Lauren Paris” y para la colección, fotos y créditos se dirá: Saint Laurent by Heidi Slimane. Sin embargo afuera del edificio donde se realizo el desfile aparecen varios logos gigantes de las siglas YSL. Todo esto se lo toman muy enserio y cuando vean el link de BOF entenderán porque.
Luego ocurrieron dos cosas de las que todos hablan, los ataques a la crítica de moda Cathy Horyn, y el blog de BOF que relata que el departamento de comunicación de Saint Laurent actúa de forma un poco extraña. Como no quiero hacer el “teléfono descompuesto” mejor les dejo acá los link para que lean por ustedes mismo lo extraño de esta situación. Bof sobre el departamento de relaciones públicas y comunicación de Saint Laurent
Este lunes en un programa de televisión francesa, se le preguntó a Karl Lagerfeld su opinión al respecto de si se puede aun criticar la moda como se critica un libro, una película o una obra de arte y nuestro Karl con todos los años de experiencia respondió de una forma muy sensata refiriéndose a como reaccionó la casa Saint Laurent “no es el mejor ejemplo… incluso corren el riesgo de más malas críticas… es molesto e innecesario”
2. Buena Música!
Ahora volviendo al runway todo el mundo comenta la buena música del desfile. Todo gracias a los Daft Punk que mezclaron la música de Junior Kimbrough, una combinación exitosa que hizo bailar en sus sillas a todos los invitados.
3. 70’s (el desfile)
Heidi Slimane no dio ninguna entrevista después del runway (algo muy inusual en el mundo de la moda). Pero solo por lo que se puede observar las siluetas hacen clara referencia a los diseños de Yves Saint Laurent en los años 70’s. Para que entiendan estas referencias les comparto unas fotos de antiguas colecciones y luego la nueva colección con eso podrán ver por ustedes mismos las similitudes y el uso de los códigos de Yves Saint Laurent.
